The Israeli army announced today, Friday, that it would target towers in Gaza City in the coming days, while the Israeli army has dropped leaflets to evacuate the high -ranking tower in Gaza.
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, the first stage of the operation focuses on the demolition of tall buildings in the city, where the first evacuation notice was delivered to one of the buildings that are considered a “shelter for Hamas” before launching the attack.
Katz explained that the army will continue its operations in an escalating manner “until Hamas elements are committed to Israel’s conditions to end the war, which includes the release of all detainees and disarmament, otherwise they will face complete destruction.”
The sources confirmed that the military operation “will continue to intensify strikes to ensure the implementation of these conditions, with a focus on neutralizing armed elements and protecting civilians as much as possible within the scope of operations.”
Palestinian media reported that the Israeli army threw advantages requesting the evacuation of areas in Jabalia, northwest of Gaza, and to go south of the “Gaza Valley” via “Al -Rashid Street”.
The leaflets stated that the Israeli army will continue to expand its operations in Gaza towards the west.
An Israeli army spokesman announced on Thursday that the army is currently controlling about 40 percent of Gaza City, while it is moving forward in its plans to completely control the city, indicating that its forces are close to controlling half of the city in the northern Gaza Strip.
“Today we control 40 percent of Gaza City. The operation will continue to expand and condense in the coming days,” said in a video statement, adding: “We will increase the pressure on Hamas until its defeat.”
Israel announced Gaza City, a “fighting zone” last week. Parts of the city are already considered “red areas”, where the Israeli army ordered the Palestinians to evacuate “in anticipation of heavy fighting,” according to the Times of Israel.
The Israeli army spokesman denied reports that the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant -General Eyal Zamir, opposes the control of Gaza.
He said that Zamir “fully supports” the plan to control Gaza City. He added that Zamir made it clear that if an alternative framework does not appear “for the day following the war”, Israel will establish a military government in the Strip.
This step comes in light of the estimates of the Israeli army indicating that about 200,000 Palestinians out of a total of nearly one million residents in Gaza City will refuse to evacuate as the military operation planned to occupy the city is approaching.
The war broke out after the attack by Hamas and other armed groups from the Gaza Strip on the Israeli Gaza cover settlements on October 7, 2023, which left 1,200 dead and about 250 hostages.
Among the remaining 48 detainees in Gaza is believed that about 20 of them are still alive.
Since then, more than 64,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, according to the health authority in the Strip.
Criticism of Israel is increasing in view of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, and with Israel expanding its military operations there.
