Dr. Ahmed Al -Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Orchidia Pharmaceutical Industries Company to launch an integrated training program in ophthalmology specialties in the authority’s hospitals in the governorates of the application of the comprehensive health insurance system.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Amir Al -Talwani, Executive Director of the Authority, a representative of the authority, and Dr. Karim Osama Abbas, a member of the Orchidia Company, a representative of the company, in the presence of leaders from both sides, reflecting the two parties’s keenness to support the development of medical competencies and promoting innovation in Egypt.

Dr. Ahmed Al -Sobky stressed that cooperation with Orchidia aims to create an integrated system for continuous medical education in the field of eyes, noting that the training program includes practical training at the job, and the introduction of the latest surgical technologies, as well as the use of experts and consultants to raise the efficiency of medical cadres and localize experiences in all governorates.
For his part, Dr. Osama Abbas, CEO of Orchidia, praised the cooperation with the authority, confirming the company’s commitment to supporting community awareness programs for ophthalmology and promoting continuous medical education, stressing that Orchidia will put its expertise and capabilities to ensure the success of the training program and achieve its goals.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties agreed to launch the integrated training program entitled “Step by Step”, which includes theoretical and practical workshops covering the various specialties of ophthalmology, including: emergency and eye injuries, corneal diseases, chickenpox, white water surgeries, strabismus and children’s eyes, and blue water, in a way that ensures the provision of doctors with the latest knowledge and applied skills to raise the quality of services provided For patients.
The signing ceremony was attended by the authority: Dr. Mahmoud El -Deeb, Assistant Executive Director for Planning and Health Maps and Director of the Technical Office of the Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Heba Awaida, Director General of the General Department of Research and Development, and Dr. Mohamed Ayoub, Supervisor of Business Partnerships at the Executive Director Office.
On the part of Orchidia, Dr. Shaima Sabry, Director of the Scientific Office, and Dr. Ahmed Saleh, Director of the brand.
This cooperation comes within the framework of the Public Authority for Health Care to continue its efforts to support continuous medical education, and to enhance partnerships with leading companies, in a way that contributes to developing the health care system and upgrading the level of medical services provided to citizens.
