With time, Bahraini society, including the fishermen, realized that organizing the fishing process, including fishing licenses and promoting the presence of the Bahraini fisherman and many strategic organization, are not restrictions but tools to protect their livelihoods, in addition to the sustainability of marine resources through clear criteria and organization between the government and local communities.
Bahraini society suffers from many problems related to the rights of Bahraini fishermen, as the protection of these rights requires ensuring the sustainability of marine resources and a balance between economic needs and environmental protection; Therefore, the Supreme Council for the Environment was keen to organize the Bahraini fisherman’s license to practice commercial marine fishing that the applicant must be Bahraini and his age should not be less than 18 years old and prove its validity to practice marine fishing and some other requirements, including the number of members of the crew registered on the fishing ship, from that it is prohibited for the Bahraini fisherman to work with an employer other than what is indicated in his license, as the controls specified the maximum of the crew members of Bahraini fishermen aboard the ship, with the presence of the employer.

The organization of fishing is important at various levels, the most important of which is the preservation of the rights of the Bahraini fisherman to practice hunting with comfort, as it contributes to the protection of fish wealth where the registered Bahraini fishermen can effectively manage these resources that enhance their sustainability, and also contribute to promoting cultural and national identity as hunting is part of the history and heritage of Bahrain, in addition to enabling local fishermen to support food security and meet Local needs, and do not forget that this organization works to create job opportunities for Bahraini fishermen, which contributes to improving the standard of living; Therefore, this organization is a strategic step that guarantees the sustainability of marine resources, enhances economic growth and supports food security, as well as giving the Bahraini fisherman all its rights in the fishing sector and responsible fishing practices that ensure the continuity of resources for future generations.
