A four -year -old child died in a tragic incident in Al -Mansour region, west of Baghdad, after he was forgotten inside a transport vehicle belonging to a long -time kindergarten, which led to his death as suffocation.
Iraqi local media said that the driver who takes the children to the kindergarten was revealed the rest of the students at 8:45, but she left the child (Adam Ali Hadi al -Jubouri) in the front seat, and did not discover his presence except when she returned at 12:45 pm, where she found him died.
The sources pointed out that “the driver was shocked as soon as she knew about what happened.”
The Baghdad/Karkh Police Command confirmed in an official statement that it had arrested the driver and opened an urgent investigation into the accident, explaining that the review of the surveillance cameras showed the child’s attempt to hit the car glass and screaming as a request for help, but he was unable to survive.
The statement added that “the statements of the driver officially reported, and indicated that she confessed to the incident, but she denied the existence of a prior intention, while legal measures were taken against her.”
The grandfather of the late child conveyed painful details, stressing that the recordings showed his grandson as he struggled to survive until his last breath.
The incident sparked widespread anger on social media, as activists expressed their shock from the neglect that killed the child, demanding the imposition of stricter procedures on Riyadh departments and drivers of school transport lines, and accountable for everyone who proves his shortcomings.
Citizens and civilian authorities also called on the Ministry of Education to follow up on Riyadh civil conditions and ensure their commitment to safety standards, at a time when parliamentary voices stressed the need to tighten control over private educational institutions and set controls that guarantee the protection of children.
