Tomorrow (Tuesday) will start on the historic land of Taif in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the competitions of the seventh edition of the Saudi Crown Prince Festival, which is one of the largest and most important heritage and sports festivals in the world, with financial prizes exceeding 50 million Saudi riyals.
On its first day, the festival witnesses the establishment of 92 runs for the “Haqiq” category at a total distance of 184 km distributed over three days, with two morning and evening periods, provided that the competitions of this category will be concluded on the third day with the runs of the Crown Prince Camel Festival.
Fifty Bahraini rides will participate in the festival in a new confirmation of the continuous Bahraini presence in the most prominent Gulf and international forums of this authentic heritage sport, reflecting the depth of historical ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and joint cooperation in preserving the inheritance and promoting the Arab identity.
The Saudi Camel Federation had announced earlier the festival’s timetable, including 249 runs for various categories, in addition to 5 runs in the hygiene races for men and women.
The Organizing Committee has completed all the equipment for the historic field, which is the only one among the 45 fields in the Kingdom, where the main track with a length of 10 kilometers was equipped with six tracks according to the highest international standards, in addition to its lighting with solar energy.
The Saudi Crown Prince Festival, whose first edition was launched in 2018, is a prominent station in the map of sporting and heritage events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it seeks to consolidate camel sport in the popular conscience and support its renewed presence.
During its previous sessions, the festival has achieved five local and international awards, including four awards from the Guinness Book of Records, in addition to the Mecca Award for Economic Excellence in 2023, for its qualitative contributions to supporting the economy and cultural mobility related to inheritance.
