Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians abroad, met Monday evening of September 2025, with Mr. Raphael Grouosi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on the sidelines of participation in the Blid Forum held in the Republic of Slovenia.

The Foreign Ministry statement revealed that the meeting dealt with the efforts made by Egypt in coordination with the parties concerned to reduce the escalation in the region and create conditions to resume negotiations between Iran and the United States of America on the Iranian nuclear file, especially after the start of activating the mechanism of imposing international sanctions through the Security Council.
Minister Abdel Ati reviewed the ongoing contacts to find the appropriate climate to allow the opportunity for diplomatic solutions and dialogue, and to contribute to a sustainable settlement that takes into account the interests of all parties to achieve security and regional stability.
Minister Abdel -Ati also touched on bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the agency, pointing to the expansion that Egypt is witnessing in the context of employing peaceful uses of atomic energy in serving national development efforts, especially through the project of the nuclear plant in Dabaa, pointing to the keenness to enhance cooperation relations with the agency, and benefit from its technical expertise to ensure the application of the highest international standards in the areas of safety and nuclear security.
