His Excellency met with His Excellency Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed Al -Ma’wali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in the sisterly Sultanate of Oman, in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Nayef bin Ali Al -Abri, head of the Civil Aviation Authority in the Sultanate and Mr. Omar bin Mahmoud Al -Mahrazi, CEO of Asead Ports Company, and during the meeting discussed ways to enhance joint Gulf cooperation in the field of green transport and exchange experiences about best practices and policies that support innovation and sustainability in this sector The vital, in addition to discussing the promotion of bilateral coordination between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman in sustainable transport projects and the exchange of technical expertise between the two sides.
His Excellency also visited the port of Salalah and the free zone, and reviewed His Excellency during the tour of the various port operations, including container and general goods, and modern technologies used to accelerate logistical operations, in addition to future plans to expand the port and increase its operational capacity. Local and international, enhancing the Salalah site as a pivotal center for trade and transport in the region, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of transportation, logistics and free trade.
His Excellency also visited the Green Data Center, which is one of the projects of Oman Vision 2040 and constitutes a large data warehouse that depends entirely on renewable energy. Using solar energy, hydrogen, and cooling techniques using sea water.
At the end of his visit to the Sultanate, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa expressed his appreciation for the great efforts made by the sisterly Sultanate of Oman in promoting sustainable transport and developing logistical infrastructure, stressing the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of transportation, logistical services and free trade, and the exchange of experiences and modern technologies.
