A research team from the British University of Sri Survi succeeded in developing an innovative tool for artificial intelligence called Pose-enhanted Geo-Localisation (Peng), which is able to revolutionize navigation by reducing errors at a rate of up to 40 times compared to traditional GPS systems.

An unprecedented accuracy in location

Practical tests showed that the technology managed to reduce the error margin from 734 meters to only 22 meters, by integrating satellite images with street level images, which gives users high accuracy even in complex environments.

An innovative work mechanism

The Peng tool depends on two basic steps: locating using street images, then improving the results by calculating the direction with the technology of the relative situation, the distinctive system that the system only needs a single -lens camera, which is widely available in modern vehicles.

A solution to GPS signals

This technology aims to overcome the obstacles faced by the GPS system in tunnels, overcrowded urban areas such as New York, or low -connection places, which makes them ideal for self -driving vehicles and smart navigation tools.

Wide applications in vital fields

The importance of this tool exceeds daily uses, as it represents a strategic addition in the fields of aviation, defense, and logistical services, as GPS interruption may lead to catastrophic results.

A human vision of technology

Professor Adrian Hilton, director of the Secret Institute for Human Artificial Intelligence, stressed that the project provides a practical solution that puts human needs in the heart of innovation, and radically addresses the challenges of modern navigation.

An open future for development

The research team is currently building a preliminary model for the system’s experience in realistic environments, and has chosen its research as an open source with the aim of encouraging international researchers and engineers to develop technology and accelerate its adoption.
