Since the establishment of the state, security has been the main pillar on which the institutions of the country and society were based, and the Ministry of Interior was represented by the Police (Public Security) the great role in preserving the state’s capabilities and protecting people.

With the development of life and the change of the nature of threats, it has become necessary to move to a new dimension of security .. An invisible dimension but it is strongly present.

In this context, the national cyberspace “2025 Cyber Shield” acquires special importance, as it was established under the patronage of His Highness the Corner Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Adviser, Commander of the Royal Guard, Secretary -General of the Supreme Defense Council, organized by the National Center for Cyber Security, and with the wide participation of various government agencies and vital and private sectors. This exercise was not just a formal simulation, but rather a real practical experience that put these bodies in front of complex scenarios that reveal the level of readiness and show what needs to be strengthened or developed, so that the exercise becomes a national laboratory that enhances the capabilities and raises the level of coordination and awareness of the seriousness of cyber threats.

His Highness stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is continuing to enhance its national capabilities in the field of cybersecurity as a strategic priority to protect the nation’s gains and safeguard the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, may God protect and preserve him, and with the great interest that the esteemed government attacked headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him. Here, Bahrain’s strategic view is that security is no longer limited to the police and equipment, but rather has become a cyber space that requires permanent vigilance and continuous coordination between institutions.

The value of this exercise is also evident in its comprehensiveness, as it is not limited to the protection of government institutions, but rather includes the financial and economic sector from banks, companies and vital sectors that represent the nerve of the daily life of the citizen and the investor, which makes it more realistic because it puts these sectors in front of tests similar to what they may face in reality.

Also, these efforts reflect Bahrain’s position as a reliable country at the regional and international level in the field of cybersecurity, especially with its growing role as an advanced center in cloud services and information technology, as it provides services to sectors and institutions that exceed its geographical borders. It is a clear message to the world that Bahrain is not only consumed for modern technologies, but an active partner in formulating digital safety rules at the international level.

These efforts do not stop at the present, but rather extend to the future, as cybersecurity has become a prerequisite for the success of Bahrain’s projects in digital transformation and smart services, and a pillar to achieve its aspirations within the framework of its economic vision until 2050. Security here is not an end in itself, but rather a way to protect the development process and attract investments and build a prosperous digital economy commensurate with Bahrain’s regional and international status.

The recent national exercise has demonstrated that Bahraini competencies, with their determination and will, are able to build a safe and flexible cyber environment, in line with the Kingdom’s aspirations towards the digital future, and that Bahrain has the invisible wall that guards its present and preserves its future.
