The implementation of these projects continues in accordance with the development plans for the infrastructure, sanitation and roads, to keep pace with the development movement, urban and investment renaissance, in the department and other areas of the southern governorate.
Real estate delivery projects are also continuing to the sewage network, infrastructure development and roads, including the provision of sidewalks, the rainwater drainage network, the improvement of the lighting level, and the provision of traffic signs and guidelines to achieve road safety.
Al -Watan made a field tour with a member of the Municipal Council, the representative of the fourth district, Mohamed Hussein Daraj, to monitor these development and service projects and the most prominent features of the achievements in the department.
Drainage and road projects
Al -Watan met during her visit to the citizen Youssef Al -Najdi, who said that he has lived in this region since 1989, and has suffered for many years from entering rain water through the car garage and doors, and its arrival inside the house and the damage of the furniture. He added that «the water was breaking the street in front of the house, and I was suffering during my departure to perform the prayers in the mosque, especially after I grew up, but thank God after the concerted efforts and the cooperation of the concerned authorities was resolved.
While the municipal member Mohamed Hussein Darraj stressed that the homes in the Al -Hujayat area were suffering since 1989 from the entry of rain water and the damage of the floor of homes, furniture and property, as the region and since that time it is operating in the old system that depends on the suction trucks, and the residents of the area were narrowed, so that some of them built a wall of cement in front of the house in an attempt to stop the flow of water to the homes in the rainy seasons. He said that the project started in the middle of the year 2023, and it is expected that it will end at the end of the year 2025, indicating that the cost of the project exceeded 2 million dinars. He pointed out that the Ministry of Works and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works Sheikh Mishaal bin Muhammad Al Khalifa were keen to solve the problem, and followed up the progress of work in the project, in addition to his continuous and direct communication to end the suffering.
Exchange network within two months
Drag explained that the project extends to the National Charter Street, and serves the two complexes 939 and 931, revealing that a new project will be worked in in the 929 complex where the street will be fully developed, and the electricity and water connections have been completed, in addition to another project in which it will be worked, which is the development of a road 3954 and 3953, stressing that the region has a number of development projects that call for the patience of citizens and their cooperation with the authorities to solve all water problems, streets and roads.
As an extension of the vital projects that are being worked on in the fourth district, Drag explained that work is being done on a project for sewage water in the 939 complex to serve more than 50 buildings, at a cost of up to one million and 400 thousand, to solve a problem that lasted for a decade, where one architecture cost 400 dinars per month to suck the sewage, and the population was the ones who spend this cost. And that the completion rate in the project reached 99% and will end during the next two months.
He continued that within the project of developing Al -Hujayat Street, it was worked on 3901 and 3922 Street, where a water drainage project was done, paved for streets, interlocking and allocating 160 parking lots, and the cost of the project was half a million dinars. He noted that Street 77 has been developed and a roundabout was established, in addition to making networks to drain rain water for the 646 and 645 collectors, maintenance and development of all streets and roads of the village of Al -Nuwaidrat, in terms of asphalting streets and internet work, as well as maintenance of the 929 complex roads.

Family entertainment and gardens

Promising future projects
Darraj revealed to Al -Watan that work will be added to the intersection of King Hamad Bridge, and the development of Riffa Street, in addition to the development of Umm Al -Naasan Street, and work will also be done on a comprehensive development of the 3957 road, in addition to the start of the second phase of the development of Street 77. A youth center will also be established in Al Hijiyat.
