The twenty -fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women in Bahrain passes on us with more pride and pride in the impressive pioneering achievements, sustainable giving, and installed the comprehensive development tower, as it became a symbol of progress and renaissance in the field of women’s rights, and the vision of the owner of the Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the presumption of the monarch of the country, the head of the Supreme Council of Women, has a prominent role in establishing this national edifice. The distant and the minor is appreciated and praised, as its vision and interest in women’s issues were a beacon to create a framework that contributes to enhancing the position of women in Bahraini society and the international community. Since its foundation in the year 2001, the Council has worked to strengthen the rights of Bahraini women in various fields, and to provide a supportive environment that contributes to achieving their ambitions and dreams, after the historical reform initiatives that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, was launched as a leading step aimed at strengthening the role of women in Bahraini society.

After its founding, the Supreme Council of Women created an integrated framework that contributed to achieving several basic principles, the most important of which is gender equality; To be Bahraini women as a real partner in building the state. During the journey of the Supreme Council for Women, many basic fabrics that were represented by the laws and legislations that protect their rights, and guarantee them equal opportunities in all fields, as we do not forget the awareness aspect led by the Supreme Council for Women during the years on highlighting the importance of the role of women in society, by harnessing the outcomes of vocational education and training and building partnerships with governmental and non -governmental agencies to enhance support and empowerment programs for women economically, politically and socially And combined all of this as a strategic work system in the sustainable development goals.

Bahrain has made many achievements thanks to the existence of this council, as Bahrain witnessed an increase in the percentage of women’s representation in parliament and municipal councils, as well as many women’s programs in the fields of business, health, and education to ensure women’s rights and protect them from discrimination, which led to the work of this council to be a general international appreciation, especially the United Nations adopting the Princess Sabika Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa International Award for Women.

In another side, the council worked with every way to overcome many of the challenges facing Bahraini women, such as the gap in the wages between the sexes, in addition to the need for more social awareness to ensure the change of the prevailing culture about the role of women and their acceptance as successful leaders who are able to give. Effective in building a bright future for Bahrain, and to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Council is an invitation to everyone to continue working for a better future for Bahraini women.
