The work of the sixth session of the Egyptian -Qatari Supreme Committee, headed by Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians abroad, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly State of Qatar.
Signing agreements between Egypt and Qatar
The work of the session witnessed the signing of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar on the minutes of the committee’s business meeting, and the session witnessed the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding and joint cooperation programs, where the Minister of Social Solidarity signed from the Egyptian side on a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of social insurance and pensions, and the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation from the Egyptian side signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the agricultural and food security field, and the Foreign Minister also signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a mechanism Political consultations between the two foreign ministries of the two countries.
Abdel -Ati explained that the holding of the sixth session reflects the political will of the two countries in the two countries to enhance bilateral relations, conveying the greetings of the President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, to Prince Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the sisterly State of Qatar, and his wishes for the State of Qatar in the time of progress and prosperity.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the work of the committee represents a new station in the march of bilateral relations, which witnessed an unprecedented qualitative shift during the last stage, especially in the wake of the President’s visit to Doha in April 2025, which was established for a new stage of strategic cooperation.
In this context, Minister Abdel -Ati pointed out the great importance to enhance economic integration between the two countries, stressing that the current momentum in relations must be translated into concrete projects and investments that contribute to achieving sustainable development, explaining that the Egyptian state has adopted in recent years radical reforms to facilitate procedures for investors, which included updating the system of investment legislation, and providing tax and customs incentives, Providing a favorable environment to increase the role of the private sector, as this is a national priority. He also expressed aspiration to receive more Qatari investments in the priority sectors, especially transportation and logistics, food security, industry resettlement, new and renewable energy, tourism, and urban development, stressing the importance of the wide Qatari participation in the Egyptian-Gulf Investment Forum scheduled to be held in Cairo soon, as well as from looking to form an Egyptian-Qatari business council that would open up prospects New to launch more investment partnerships in order to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
On the other hand, the two sides dealt with the most prominent developments on the regional scene, especially the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, where the Foreign Minister praised the Egyptian -Qatari coordination and the joint efforts to reach the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure the entry into force of humanitarian aid.
In this context, the two sides discussed the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the opportunity it represents to release the hostages and prisoners, stop the aggression, and ensure the urgent access to humanitarian and relief aid to the Strip, in a manner that is consistent with the proposals offered by Mr. Steve and the American envoy to the Middle East.
The two sides condemned the continuation of the Israeli aggression, the expansion of the military operations in Gaza, the continuation of the policy of starvation and settlement expansion in the West Bank, stressing that these flagrant violations of international law lead only to the complexity of the situation, the exacerbation of human suffering, the undermining of security and stability in the region, and the weakening of opportunities to reach a fair and comprehensive peace.
The talks also dealt with the developments of the situation in a number of other regional files, including the situation in Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, the African century and the Red Sea, as well as developments in the Iranian nuclear file, where Minister Abdel -Ati stressed the importance of joint coordination to face the unprecedented challenges that the region is witnessing in order to preserve the unity and sovereignty of Arab countries, and put an end to interventions The Foreign Ministry, which contributes to enhancing regional security.
The Egyptian delegation included Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Mr. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. It also included the Qatari delegation, Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al -Kuwari, Minister of Finance, and Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al -Attiyah, Minister of Municipal, along with a number of senior officials in the two brotherly countries.
