There is no doubt that any Bahraini project, whatever its type or size, represents an important addition to the national economy, and contributes in one way or another to creating real and sustainable job opportunities for our youth and young women, in addition to being an opportunity to highlight the local, in a way that enhances society’s confidence in the national product and establishes the values of production and innovation among members of society.
On a personal level; Whenever I have the opportunity to visit one of the exhibitions devoted to displaying and selling the products of Bahraini families, which vary between local industries and traditional crafts, along with leading projects that were able to evolve clearly to compete with the best brands, and succeeded in turning into national companies and institutions managed with commercial mentalities.
The occasion of my talk is the announcement of the Ministry of Social Development about the opening of the “Bahraini Hands” store in the Mubarak Bin Jassim Kano Center in the Sanabis area as a step worthy of appreciation, as it opens to the productive families a larger window for direct communication with consumers, highlighting the quality of their products, and puts them on the path of real competition in a market that requires continuous development and innovation.
The idea simply is not satisfied with enabling Bahraini families through training or financing, but rather gives them the natural environment that any project needs; A fixed place, a varied audience, and sustainable support that makes these families be able to rely on themselves, develop their skills, and turn their home effort into a real added value for the national economy.
Attention to productive families represents a national economic project with distinction. Every local product comes out of a Bahraini house, whether it is a handicraft, a popular meal, or a cosmetic product, which represents an investment in the Bahraini person before anything, and this investment when it accumulates and is managed with a correct mindset, it creates success stories capable of turning into trademarks bearing the name of Bahrain abroad.
It is noteworthy that this initiative is in harmony with Bahrain’s vision in promoting the spirit of community entrepreneurship, encouraging self -work, and opens new horizons for all members of society, which makes them real partners in economic development, which means that “Bahraini hands” represent a national project that carries a deeper message that self -reliance and trust in Bahraini ability can be a practical alternative to import and a practical way to face economic challenges.
Today we need more of these initiatives and a greater community awareness of the importance of their support, by demanding the purchase and preference of Bahraini families products, not as a matter of sympathy but because it has proven its ability to combine quality, creativity and appropriate prices.
