The organizing committee of the Nasser bin Hamad season for marine heritage sports is preparing in its eighth edition to hold a contemplation of the soul – the run by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports and Chairman of the Bahraini Olympic Committee, tomorrow, Friday, in the maritime area adjacent to the yacht marina in the Amwaj Islands with the participation of 50 contestants.
The competition depends on the ability of the participants to conceal the underwater for the longest possible period of time, at a depth of two meters, as ten winners win at the end of the event.
Prior to the event, the organizing committee held a enlightening meeting with the contestants, during which the approved organizational regulations and evaluation mechanisms were explained, while stressing the commitment to the utmost safety measures that were developed as a top priority.
The committee also coordinated with the various concerned authorities supporting the season, in a way that ensures the success of the event and organized it at the highest levels.
In this context, Mr. Mishaal Al -Enezi, from the organizing committee of the Contest of Psychology, stressed the need for this competition to be held in a safe and integrated environment, confirming the provision of all the equipment that guarantees the safety of the contestants throughout the competition.
Al -Enezi said that the great demand for participation reflects the passion of Bahraini society with the marine heritage, and the youth’s keenness to engage in sports experiences that reflect the authenticity of the national identity.
The competition will be held within the Nasser Bin Hamad season for marine heritage sports program, which started last July and will continue until mid -November.
The season is in its eighth edition the largest since its foundation, as it includes a series of championships and events related to the marine heritage, including swimming races in open water, diving competitions for oyster extraction, popular rowing races, and a fishing competition (Al -Hardaq), in addition to a new competition in the name of Al -Naham held inside the studios of the Ministry of Information and the brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries participate.
The organization of the season comes within the framework of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King of Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, to emphasize pride in the national identity and revive the Bahraini heritage in the sea and link it to young generations.
