President Abdel -Fattah El -Sisi received today, Dr. Nawwaf Salam, the Lebanese Prime Minister, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Rania Al -Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs abroad, and the two countries of the two countries.
The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President welcomed the Lebanese Prime Minister on his first visit to Egypt since he took over the presidency of the government, praising the positive steps taken by the Lebanese government during the past months to restore the regularity of state institutions and extend its authority over all Lebanese territory.
His Excellency also affirmed Egypt’s full support for the efforts of the Lebanese state in restoring stability, starting in the process of economic recovery and reconstruction, stressing in this regard the need to continue the Lebanese state with all the necessary effort to ensure that Lebanon, its internal peace and national unity.
Al -Sisi emphasizes Egypt’s fixed and supportive position of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity
Ambassador Mohamed El -Shennawi, the official spokesman, pointed out that the President affirmed during the interview on Egypt’s steadfast and supportive position of Lebanon and the integrity and safety of its lands, noting that intensive Egyptian contacts with various active international and regional parties continue, with the aim of emphasizing ensuring the stability of Lebanon, and the full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, and reminding the importance of supporting the international community for the institutions of the Lebanese state, foremost of which is the army, to enable it to perform the national tasks assigned To him. For his part, the Lebanese Prime Minister’s state expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to Mr. President for the great support that Egypt provides to Lebanon, which reflects the depth of historical ties between the two countries and the two peoples.
He also reviewed the priorities of his government during the next stage, foremost of which is strengthening cooperation and integration relations with Arab countries, headed by Egypt, pointing to the ongoing efforts to hold the tenth session of the Joint Higher Committee between Egypt and Lebanon, which is scheduled to be held in Cairo later this year.
The spokesperson added that the meeting also dealt with developments in a number of regional files, as in this context, the conformity of Egypt and Lebanon’s conformity with the developments of the situation in the Gaza Strip, as the meeting witnessed a consensus in the visions on the importance of intensifying joint efforts to find political and peaceful solutions to the crises witnessed by some countries of the region, while emphasizing the need to respect the sovereignty of those countries and their territorial integrity.
At the end of the interview, it was agreed to continue consultation and coordination between Egypt and Lebanon, to serve common interests and enhance regional security and stability.
