“Gulf Science and Technology” expects a memorandum of understanding with “Omani Water” to enhance cooperation in the fields of research and training

The Gulf Water Science and Technology Association signed a memorandum of understanding with the Omani Water Association in order to cooperate in the fields of studies and research related to water sources, and the challenges it faces in light of the rapid climate changes, as part of its keenness to enhance regional partnerships and exchange scientific and professional experiences.

The Memorandum of Understanding includes cooperation in organizing conferences, seminars, and scientific workshops, in addition to implementing specialized training programs to develop the skills of workers in the water and sanitation sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The agreement was signed by the Gulf Science and Technology Association, Eng. Abdul Rahman Al -Mahmoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and by the Omani Water Association, Eng. Zahir bin Khaled Al -Sulaimani, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Gulf Water Science and Technology Association confirms that this partnership represents a strategic step towards building an integrated Gulf system for cooperation in the field of water science and technology, and works to keep pace with environmental and climatic challenges by employing scientific research and exchanging experiences and experiences between specialists.

The Chairman of the Board, Eng. Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al -Mahmoud, said that the association has been working hard since the eighties of the past decade to meet the worsening challenges in the field of water resources protection, and it seeks, through experts, activists, researchers and specialists in the water sector, to find sustainable solutions, to achieve water security, enhance harmony, achieve sustainability, and build capabilities capable of formulating active solutions to face common water challenges.

He explained that the Gulf Water Conference, which the association has been organizing in one of the Gulf states, contributed greatly to providing deep visions and recommendations that would improve the reality of water resources in the Gulf states, as these recommendations are raised after each conference is held to decision -makers in the GCC countries to help them take the necessary measures and measures to protect water resources and face water shortage challenges.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Water Association, Eng. Zahir bin Khaled Al -Sulaimani, said: “The signing of this memo represents an important step towards enhancing joint work in the water sector at the Gulf level, in light of the increasing challenges facing water resources in the region. New prospects for cooperation with associations and bodies concerned with the water sector in the GCC countries.

The Omani Water Association – founded in April 2010 – is the first association specialized in water affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, and the second association of its kind at the level of the Arab Gulf states. Since its foundation, the association seeks to consolidate the concepts of water resources management, develop research and scientific studies that contribute to building local capabilities, and supporting specialized cadres with knowledge, experience and skills necessary to enhance the efficiency of work in this vital sector.
