Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam arrived in Cairo on Tuesday evening to meet a number of Egyptian officials, according to the Lebanese News Agency.
According to the agency, the Lebanese Prime Minister is accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salama and the Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Siddiq.
She explained that the Lebanese delegation arrived at Cairo International Airport, at the beginning of an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Salam and the accompanying delegation were received by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Karim Badawi, and the Lebanon ambassador to Egypt, Ambassador Ali Al -Halabi, along with a number of members of the Lebanese diplomatic mission.
Egypt confirms the support of Lebanon’s efforts to extend the state authority
A few days ago, a telephone conversion was made between Foreign Minister Badr Abdel -Ati and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, the contact dealt with ways to enhance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and developments in the situation in Lebanon and in the region.
Minister Abdel -Ati conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi to President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and support their efforts in extending the authority of the Lebanese state.
Abdel -Ati also emphasized the priority that Egypt attaches to preserving the security and stability of Lebanon and its full solidarity with the brotherly Lebanese people and the support of the government and the institutions of the Lebanese state, in a way that enhances Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and secure its security and stability.
The communication also dealt with the ongoing arrangements for the convening of the Egyptian -Lebanese Joint Supreme Committee at the level of the main ministers in the two countries, which aims to advance the march of bilateral cooperation in various economic, commercial and investment fields and support reconstruction programs in Lebanon, and to enhance coordination mechanisms between Cairo and Beirut in issues of common concern.
