Iran announced a new nuclear talk round today, Tuesday, in Geneva with European Troika (France, Germany and Britain), which is affiliated with the 2015 nuclear agreement.
According to the Iranian Tasnim Agency, this new round of negotiations will be held, after a previous round that took place last July in Istanbul, at the level of foreign ministers, to represent Majeed Takht Rwanji, the Iranian side.
Rwanji’s Takht expressed flexibility during previous statements about the possibility that his country agreed to reduce some of its nuclear activities in exchange for lifting Western sanctions.
This meeting comes months before the end of the reactivation of the “trigger mechanism” stipulated in the nuclear agreement, next October.
Mediation between Tehran and Washington
It also comes after the representatives of European Troika countries previous negotiations with Tehran, but they failed to play the role of mediation between Tehran and Washington in order to conclude a new agreement on the Iranian nuclear.
It is noteworthy that the three European countries were threatened to activate the “trigger mechanism”, which was part of the 2015 International Agreement, which allows the re -imposition of the sanctions of the UN Security Council on Tehran in the event that it did not comply with the terms of the agreement.
