Year after year, the Kingdom of Bahrain confirms its firm belief that Bahraini women have been and still are a key partner in the national renaissance march, and that their prominent presence in various fields reflects the success of national policies in supporting and empowering Bahraini women and considering them an essential pillar and a leading platform in the comprehensive development process.
The launch of the Supreme Council for Women in the year 2001 led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty the Great King, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Women, and her human and wise vision, embodying the insightful royal vision that believes that women are an authentic partner in building the country, and that enabling them a strategic necessity for the renaissance of the state, which made the council a national model to follow, it is more than one institution Renaissance. The Supreme Council for Women has prominent stations in its busy career, as it contributed to achieving gender balance by integrating women into public policies, economics and other important fields, as well as being keen to enable them economically through training and rehabilitation programs, support business leaders, and enhance their participation in the labor market. The Council was also keen to protect women and the family through legislative and societal initiatives aimed at promoting family and social stability, and we do not lose sight of the council’s achievements in its support for Bahraini women’s participation in international forums, which strengthened Bahrain’s global position in the field of empowering women.
Today, Bahraini women are no longer asking about their place, but rather in parliament, in the judiciary, in the economy, in security, in the digital space, with a prominent presence, they are refined, supported and believed, because the Bahraini woman is ready, and the council is present, as usual, to lead.
The passage of 24 years since the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women is a testimony to Bahrain’s deep commitment to the values of justice and equality, and the success of a national model that made the empowerment of women a Bahraini, Arab and international success story.
