Among the difficult obstacles is the Russian claim that Ukraine waived all the lands that it acquired during the current war, in addition to another large area of lands that are still under Ukrainian control, and is more like a fortified military castle used by the Ukrainian army to defend the remaining southern Ukraine. This claim is impossible, and it is not reasonable for Zelinski and his European allies to accept even with the increasing American pressure to make Ukrainian concessions.
Also, the issue of security guarantees required by Ukraine from the United States of America and the Europeans to ensure that the current war scenario is not repeated is a complex issue that does not want America to provide more guarantees than what the joint defense agreement for NATO countries is unlike Europeans who seek a European military presence on Ukrainian lands with American military protection as well as this presence. The dilemma is that Russia strongly opposes any international military presence inside Ukraine, and considers it a direct threat to it, which prevents the achievement of the security guarantees required by Ukraine.
Therefore, no matter how much the declared optimism of the possibility of access to understandings between the Russians and the Europeans and the stopping of the war that has existed three years ago, which harvested the lives of hundreds of thousands on both sides, the reality is far from that, and no possible solutions appear on the horizon.
