The results of the researcher’s master’s thesis, Amna Al -Balushi, and under the supervision of the head of the Department of Information and Public Relations at the Gulf University, showed Dr. Najlaa Al -Jamal, the role of local media, with its various traditional and digital means, in promoting national affiliation and consolidating the values of citizenship among Bahraini youth. The selection of this research issue came due to the importance of the media in forming the awareness of individuals and societies, especially in light of the rapid digital transformations that changed the ways to receive information and interact with it. The researcher applied her study on a random sample of 409 vocabulary of Bahraini university youth from public and private universities. Through an electronic questionnaire that included several research standards and various questions to measure the variables of the study, the study reached the high rates of national affiliation and the values of citizenship among the Bahraini youth, where the phrases that were approved at very high levels were represented by the youth, the study sample in those related to the extent of their pride in their homeland, their keenness to support its interests, their participation in national occasions, and see them to defend As a sacred duty.
And the phrases “I feel proud to be part of my country, and I am proud of belonging to it”, and “I consider myself a citizen linked to his homeland and I am keen to support his interests”, and “adhere to the laws and laws; Because it reflects the sophistication and development of peoples “,” I make sure to maintain the reputation of the country inside and outside the country “, and” I feel responsibility towards cooperation with government agencies in their business “, and” I appreciate cultural and religious diversity in my community, and consider it a source of strength. ” The study also shed light on the efforts of the local media in achieving the goals of the national plan to enhance the national affiliation and the national identity and consolidate the values of citizenship “our Bahrain” among the members of Bahraini society in all its categories, and recommended a greater focus on electronic platforms to spread its content that calls for the establishment of positive values, support for national identity, consolidating the values of citizenship, and determining the shared responsibility between different members of society, in a way that ensures the arrival of its awareness messages to The widest segment of society, especially the youth category.
The study also recommended improving the quality of media content and the importance of adopting more interactive media strategies by involving the public in national dialogues more interactive.
