A source familiar with the Ministry of Health revealed to “Cairo 24” the death of a maintenance technician inside the Mansoura Specialized Hospital of the General Secretariat of the specialized medical centers, after a elevator fell during maintenance work a short time ago.
The source pointed out that the accident occurred during the technician’s initiation of maintenance work inside the elevator, before he suddenly fell, which resulted in his death at once.
He emphasized that the police forces immediately arrived at the site of the accident, and the competent investigation authorities that started their work were notified to determine the circumstances of the incident, adding that a technical committee from inside the hospital and the General Secretariat was assigned to examine the causes of the accident and the availability of technical safety standards.
The source indicated that the investigations are still ongoing, and the necessary legal measures will be taken as soon as the technical examination and official reports will be completed.
