“Development” concludes the photography and video competition within the activities of Youth City 2030

The Ministry of Sustainable Development concluded the national photography and video photography competition entitled: “Sustainable Tourism in Bahrain with Youth Eyes”, which was launched on July 21, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and the “Nikon Youth” program and Ashraf Bahrain, as part of the activities of Youth City 2030.

The competition aimed to continue to enable young people to shed light on the features of sustainable tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to raise awareness of the youth category between the ages of 15 and 35 years about the concept of sustainable tourism and promote photography and video as a tool to encourage cultural interaction, and help enhance mutual understanding about sustainability in the tourism sector and highlight the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this field.

In this regard, the Ministry of Sustainable Development affirmed that the remarkable success achieved by the competition reflects the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to continue to enhance young people’s participation in accelerating the pace of achieving sustainable development goals, and employing arts and media to highlight the national identity in various forums, stressing the importance of continuing to strengthen partnerships with government agencies and the private sector to empower young people and develop their capabilities.

The Ministry of Sustainable Development also praised the distinguished partnership that it gathered in this competition with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, in addition to the Nikon Youth Program and Ashraf Bahrain, which contributed greatly to the success of the program and the discovery of many distinguished youth talents

For their part, partners and contestants expressed their pride in participating in this initiative, which provided an active platform for reviewing the creations of young people in the fields of photography, stressing that such activities enhance the presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the regional and international arena, and contribute to building a creative and qualified generation that leads the comprehensive development process with a renewed vision and promising national energies.

This, and the closing ceremony that was held within the activities of the 2030 Youth City witnessed the presence of Mrs. Sarah Ahmed Bouhaji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Miss Dana Imad Hamza, Assistant Undersecretary for Sustainable Development at the Ministry of Sustainable Development, and Mrs. Nani Mohamed Butti, Assistant Undersecretary for Support and Initiatives at the Ministry of Youth Affairs.

The event included two complementary parts, as it opened with a distinguished exhibition for the work of the participants, during which pictures and visual clips were presented that reflected the concepts of sustainable tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain from environmental, cultural and societal corners, and expressed a creative youth vision and keeping pace with modern technologies.

The participating work was also underwent an accurate evaluation process by the jury consisting of: a representative of the Ministry of Information, a representative of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, a professional Bahraini photographer, and a representative of the Nikon Youth Program, which resulted in the announcement of the winners of the first three places in both categories (photography category and video photography category), where the winning works were distinguished by a high technical level and creative ideas The national identity and the spirit of sustainability reflected many axes, including heritage tourism, which highlights the authentic Bahraini heritage, marine and environmental tourism, which reflects the beauty of the marine nature, coexistence tourism in Manama and others, which earned it a wide acclaim from the attendees and members of the jury.

The winners were honored during the second section of the ceremony on the stage, where the first place winner in each category received a cash prize of 500 Bahraini dinars, in addition to a purchasing voucher of 100 dinars provided by Ashraf M.M. 50 dinars provided by Ashraf M.M., as well as the winners obtained a training opportunity for the Nikon Youth Program, and certificates and award prizes were awarded to all participants.
