The Minister of Investment meets the Indian ambassador in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance joint economic relations

Engineer Hassan Al -Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met Ambassador Sorech Ki Redi, the Indian ambassador to Cairo, and the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the economic, commercial and investment fields, in addition to exchanging visions on the opportunities available to support future partnerships between the two countries, and the meeting also reviewed a number of topics and files in common concern between the two countries.

The Minister stressed the depth of the strategic bilateral relations between Egypt and India, which is based on a long history of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, noting the importance of strengthening joint efforts between the two countries to translate the distinguished relations between the two sides of concrete cooperation projects that are in the interest of the Egyptian and Indian economies alike.

Al -Khatib added that the meeting reviewed the opportunities and capabilities of increasing Indian investments in the Egyptian market, enhancing trade cooperation, and opening new channels for partnerships between businessmen in the two countries.

The Minister reviewed the ingredients for investment in the Egyptian market in various productive and service sectors, which include the availability of qualified workforce, engineering competencies and wages competitiveness, as well as the possibility of free access to the Egyptian product for a large number of foreign markets thanks to the free and preferential trade agreements signed between Egypt and a large number of countries and major regional and global economic blocs and blocs.

For his part, Ambassador Sorech Ki Reddy, the Indian ambassador to Cairo, pointed out his country’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation and open new horizons for the partnership between Cairo and New Delhi, pointing to the historical and dominant relations between the Republic of India and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The ambassador stressed the importance and centrality of the Egyptian market as a major industrial and export axis in the region, as well as a gateway to the African market.
