Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today; Dr. Akihiko Tanaka, President of the Japan Agency for International Cooperation “JICA”, during his participation, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, President of the Republic, at the Tokyo International Development Conference in Africa in its ninth session, the “Tequad 9” summit, hosted by Japan Yokohama, in the presence of Dr. Rania Al -Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Education Technical, Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, Egypt’s ambassador to Japan.
The Prime Minister meets the President of the Japan Agency for International Cooperation “JICA”
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly expressed his pride in the close relations that link Egypt and Japan, pointing to its development in various fields such as health, culture, infrastructure, transportation, and education, stressing that the volume of cooperation and support provided by Japan for the development process in Egypt is appreciated and praised by the Egyptian side, expressing his aspiration to attend and participate
The Prime Minister also pointed to the important cooperation in the field of education through the establishment of Japanese schools in Egypt, which numbered 69, expressing his aspiration for cooperation and partnership with Japan in the field of technical education, stressing that Egypt is looking to increase the volume of Japanese investments on Egyptian lands, praising at the same time in joint cooperation in the fields of new and renewable energy, and the civil aviation sector.
Dr. Rania Al -Mashat reviewed during the meeting the existing cooperation between the two sides in many sectors inside Egypt, noting that Egypt aspired to expand cooperation with the “JICA” agency in African countries within the framework of tripartite cooperation.
The Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the field of new and renewable energy, praising the existing size of partnership and cooperation, and explaining that according to the instructions of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, President of the Republic, Egypt seeks to increase the levels of joint cooperation with Japan.
During the meeting, Dr. Akihiko Tanaka praised Egypt’s efforts to communicate and seek a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, expressing his regret for the deterioration of the situation inside the Strip, noting the efforts of the “JICA” agency in providing support to the Gaza Strip, expressing his hope to reach a ceasefire.
The head of the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation “JICA” pointed to the issuance of a booklet that highlights the 70th anniversary of the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the JICA, and during the meeting he gifted the Prime Minister a copy of the booklet.
Dr. Akihiko Tanaka also praised the level of positive development witnessed by relations between the two countries and the Egyptian and Japanese peoples, pointing to the existing cultural cooperation between the two countries, which is embodied in the Grand Egyptian Museum project, in addition to joint cooperation in the establishment and implementation of the fourth line of the subway in Egypt, stressing that Egypt is an important partner of the agency in light of the size and diversity of works and projects implemented from the agency within the Egyptian lands.
