The National Judo team achieved second place in the overall ranking of the teams participating in the Asian Open Championship, which was hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman. After the team collected 7 colored medals, including 5 golds, silver and bronze.

His Highness affirmed that what the National Judo team achieved is the fruit of the great support that the Bahraini sport enjoys from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the follow -up and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the great efforts made by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Acts and Youth and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, Chairman of the Bahraini Olympic Committee for Sports, especially the combat games, as this contributed to enhancing Bahrain’s position on the continental and international sports map.
His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa said: “The achievement recorded by the National Judo team in the Asian Open Championship in Jordan, demonstrates the great efforts made by the technical and administrative bodies and players, and reflects the high competitive spirit enjoyed by the Bahraini champions. For his part, the President of the Bahraini Judo Federation, His Excellency Dr. Faisal Khaled Kanoo, expressed his happiness with the achievement achieved by the Judo team in the Asian Open Championship that was hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman, stressing that this distinguished result is the fruit of the great support that the Bahraini sport enjoys from the rational leadership, and the distinguished efforts from His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, care and direct support from His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, along with follow -up.
