Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, inspected the project to establish strategic warehouses for medical products and devices in the new administrative capital, and also held an expanded meeting with Dr. Hisham State, President of the Egyptian Authority for Unified purchase, supply, medical supply and medical technology management, to follow up the implementation plan and completion rates on the ground.
This comes within the framework of his continuous follow -up to the progress of national projects, and to overcome any obstacles that may affect the targets of achievement rates.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the Deputy Prime Minister confirmed that the project is one of the most important national projects aimed at enhancing drug security, and developing the storage and distribution system, in implementation of the vision of Egypt 2030, where 6 strategic stores are established distributed in various governorates of the Republic, including a central store in the new administrative capital, and sub -stores (Alexandria, Mansoura, Minya, Qena, Qena, And Ismailia (Canal and Sinai).
He added that the minister inspected the project’s work site, which is located on an area of about 457,330 square meters, of which 160 thousand m² for the main store in the administrative capital, explaining that the estimated cost of the first stage is 162.75 million dollars.
He explained that the project is managed according to the latest warehouse management systems (WMS) and international quality standards (ISO 9001 – 22000 – GDP – GSP), and the project provides integrated services that include storage, cooling, packaging, re -filling, planning and predicting the use of SAP Demand Planning systems, along with the pharmaceutical tracking system to ensure transparency and secure supply chains.
He pointed out that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar was briefed on the completion rates in the project in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, the Suez Canal, and Minya, and the work sites are being received in the Mansoura and Ismailia branches, explaining that the design and operating planning of the stores includes a main store, service building, water and fuel tanks, areas: storage medicines, cooling, shipping, isolated area, while dividing the storage areas: Cold, frozen, isolated, medical devices).
During the meeting, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of adhering to the specific timelines and completing the executive stages according to the highest quality and safety standards, stressing that the project will make a qualitative shift in managing the strategic medical stock in a way that ensures the speed of response in emergency and crises, stressing that the Egyptian state puts the drug security file at the top of its priorities, and the project comes as a strategic step to ensure the sustainability of supplies Medical and achieving the highest levels of efficiency in the distribution of medicine and medical supplies at the level of the Republic.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar directed a review of the strategic warehouses of the ministry and their merged into the new store system, after reviewing its conformity with the specifications and modern standards approved by the project, with the aim of unifying the mechanisms of work and enhancing the efficiency of the storage and drug supply system at the level of the Republic, in a way that contributes to achieving integration between the existing stores and the new national project, ensuring the optimal use of resources, and upgrading At the level of medical service, enhance the ability to quickly respond in emergency and crises.
