He added: “The recent amendments to the Traffic Law represents a qualitative shift in the traffic safety system, as it came to meet the actual need to deter wrong behavior on the roads, and to enhance the culture of adherence to laws, in a way that ensures the protection of road users from accidents that could have been avoided with awareness and discipline. There is no doubt that tightening penalties for serious violations, such as bypassing the red signal or driving under the influence of alcohol, will constitute a true deterrent. Community awareness, so that the supreme goal is to protect lives and property. “
The head of the Municipal Council of the Southern Region, Abdullah Abdullatif, said: “We confirm that the amendments that came with the royal decree reflect the interest of the leadership to preserve lives and the safety of citizens and residents in our dear kingdom.
And that these amendments will undoubtedly limit the grave traffic accidents by facing dangerous traffic behaviors by some reckless, especially in the inhabited residential areas and bypassing the red signal, and we commend what was stated in the royal decree that is consistent with international standards in the field of traffic safety and raising the efficiency of national legislation; In this regard, we can only extend our thanks and gratitude to the Ministry of Interior, which has never spared effort or savings for the launch of continuous awareness and traffic campaigns.
The Vice -Chairman of the Capital Secretariat, Dr. Khuloud Al -Qattan, said that the new amendments to the Traffic Law in Bahrain represented a solid legislative development that seeks to enhance the road safety through a mixture of deterrent penalties, fair application, community awareness, administrative flexibility, and a positive step in the process of building a safe and safe and respectful society.
She added: “These amendments aim to build a safer traffic environment, by intensifying penalties and violations, and this reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to preserve the lives of citizens and residents, and these amendments have also cast a new light that Bahrain is always seeking to develop its legal system with thoughtful steps, preserving people’s lives and keeping pace with modern traffic challenges.”
The member of the Municipal Council Zainab Al -Darazi, representative of the twelfth district, praised the recent amendments to the Traffic Law, stressing that these amendments come within the framework of the approach and keenness of His Majesty the great king to ensure the safety and security of citizens and residents, and embodies the continuous support and care from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the distinguished Prime Minister, in addition to the accurate follow -up and the relentless efforts led by the Minister of Interior to develop the traffic system in The Kingdom of Bahrain is to keep pace with challenges and variables.
Al -Darazi said: “What we witnessed from the amendments to the Traffic Law, especially with regard to tightening penalties and increasing fines to traffic violations, is a very important step, as they are a fundamental deterrent that preserves lives and property, and limits irresponsible behaviors that may lead to unfortunate accidents.”
She added that this trend reflects a deep awareness of the leadership and the government of the importance of raising the level of commitment to traffic regulations, achieving a balance between deterrence through law, and awareness through educational and guidance programs, which contributes to establishing a culture of respect for the system, and enhances the feeling of individual and social responsibility among road users.
Al -Darazi stressed that the people in various regions of Bahrain suffer from some traffic risks resulting from excessive speed and illegal abuses, noting that the new amendments will contribute directly to addressing these challenges, and reducing the rates of traffic accidents that constitute a continuous concern for society.
She also stressed that the concerted official and societal efforts is the way to achieve the goals of the law, calling for the continuation of awareness and media campaigns directed at various groups, especially the youth category, in a way that ensures raising the level of awareness of the seriousness of traffic violations, and consolidating the conviction that commitment to the law is ranging first and foremost in the interest of the individual and society.
Al -Darazi concluded her statement by emphasizing that these legislative amendments represent a qualitative shift in the path of developing national legislation, and that it is consistent with the trends aimed at achieving sustainable development and providing a safe and stable environment for all members of society.
While the representative of the second department in the northern region, the municipal member Bassem Abu Idris, stressed that the legal amendments reflect a bold and decisive step towards improving traffic safety and protecting the lives of citizens, and it expresses a clear orientation to impose discipline on the roads and enhance the culture of responsibility among drivers. It also keeps pace with international standards in dealing with grave violations and places Bahrain among the strict countries in protecting road users.
