Israeli army spokesman, Evi Dafin, announced today, Wednesday, that Israel entered the early stages of its attack on Gaza City, in a statement to Israeli media.
According to what was reported by the Israeli Channel 12, Dafrin explained: “We will intensify our strikes against Hamas in Gaza City … We started the preliminary operations of the attack … We will prepare the conditions for the return of the hostages, according to the directives of the political leadership.”
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed the army to reduce the time period “to control Hamas strongholds in Gaza,” according to his office. 60,000 reserve soldiers.
The Israeli army announced earlier today the start of the preliminary phase of the occupation of Gaza City from the Al -Zaytoun neighborhood and Jabalia, after Defense Minister Yisrael Katz believed the plan, yesterday evening, Tuesday.
“As part of the preparation for the next stage of the operation, about 60,000 summonses for reserve soldiers were issued this morning, provided that 20,000 reserve soldiers who have already recruited the decision to extend their current service orders are informed.”
While an Israeli military official revealed some details about the plan. He said in statements to reporters today, that he expects the attack plan to be completed in the coming days.
According to the plan, 5 teams will participate, including 12 brigade fighting teams, in addition to the two brigades of the Gaza Band: Northern and South, according to the Israeli Army Radio.
Extending compulsory service
The compulsory service for the soldiers in the service will also be extended by 30-40 days.
About 60,000 reserve soldiers will be called, half of whom are fighters, and the other half of the intelligence departments, air force, logistics, headquarters and others.
Summonary orders to the reserve soldiers were sent starting today, provided that the date of attendance is after September 2.
For the sake of fighting, 3 combat reserve brigades will be called, according to the Israeli Army Radio.
It is noteworthy that Israel announced in early August that it was preparing to control Gaza City and the nearby displaced camps, with a declared goal of defeating Hamas and liberating the hostages who were kidnapped during the attack of October 7, 2023, which ignited the war in the Strip.
