A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) revealed that the conflict of interests in the advisory committee for immunization practices affiliated with the American centers to combat and prevent them (CDC) has reached its lowest historical levels, at a time when health minister Robert F sacked. Kennedy Junior is all 17 members of the committee last June, according to Reuters.

Study: The decline in conflicts of interest in the American vaccine committees to its lowest historical levels

Kennedy was based on a 2007 report to say that the committee is full of conflicts, but modern data indicates the opposite. The study showed that the rate of conflict of interests informed by the members of the committee decreased from 42.8% in 2000 to only 5% in 2024. This committee is concerned with advising the target groups in the vaccines approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and the dates of their giving.

The study also showed that another consulting committee affiliated with the Food and Drug Administration, which is the VRBPAC -related biological and biological products committee, has recorded rates of conflicts of interests not exceeding 4% since 2010, including ten years completely free of any declared conflict.

The researchers pointed out that most of the inconsistencies were related to the funding of research, which is considered less dangerous compared to direct financial connections such as consulting, ownership of stocks or royalties, which have not exceeded 1% since 2016 in both committees.

These results show a significant improvement compared to the high levels of conflicts of interests recorded in the early first decade of the millennium, said Jenviev Cantry, the main researcher of the Shareer Center at the University of Southern California. While Peter Laurie, one of the authors of the study and a former food and drug administration, confirmed that Kennedy is entitled to consider the case important, but he is wrong to claim that high levels of conflict are currently.
