The Chairman of the Services Committee in the House of Representatives congratulated Jalila Al-Sayyid, Issa Al-Shayji, on the occasion of his victory at the chairmanship of the Bahraini Journalists Association for the new session (2025-2027), wishing him and members of the new council to always success in performing their noble media message.
She praised the wide turnout and active participation in the association’s elections, which reflected the vitality of the press center in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that the presence of a large number of young faces in the board of directors is a positive indication of renewal and pumping new blood into the journalistic work process, which enhances the development of the sector and its keeping pace with the changes of the times.
Representative Al -Sayed emphasized that the representation of women in the board of directors is an important gain that reflects confidence in the efficiency of Bahraini media women, and enhances the principle of community partnership and justice in representation.
She also mentioned the role of Bahraini press as a major partner in the comprehensive reform project of His Majesty the King, and in the national development process, stressing the importance of supporting media institutions, foremost of which is the Association of Journalists, to enhance the media environment in the Kingdom, and to consolidate the concepts of freedom of opinion and expression within a framework of responsibility and professionalism.
She emphasized that the House of Representatives, through its competent committees, is keen to support everything that would improve journalistic work, and to provide legal and regulatory frameworks that guarantee the development and sustainability of the national media, noting the need to continue supporting the press as a free and responsible national platform, and that there be more government efforts towards strengthening responsible freedom and the word.
