The Bahraini Journalists Association witnessed the election of its new board of directors for the next session, during the meeting of the General Assembly that was held this morning in the graduate club, amid a remarkable presence of journalists, media professionals and a number of officials.
The election process came after reviewing the literary and financial reports and discussing the most prominent developments and proposals related to the development of media and journalistic work, followed by the previous board of directors, in preparation for the voting process. The number of participating votes reached 113 votes, including one voic.
The results resulted in the victory of the editor -in -chief of the newspaper “Al -Ayyam”, colleague Issa Al -Shayji, headed by the association by acclamation, while the results of the membership of the council came as follows:
Rashid Al Hamr (112 votes)
• Muhammad Bahr (108 votes)
• Rasha Al -Ibrahim (105 Voices)
D. Lulwa Al -Budalamah (102 votes)
Saud Al -Jowder (101 votes)
• Saeed Muhammad (99 votes)
• Yasmine Al -Aqidat (96 votes)
• Faisal Al -Ali (92 votes)
Hind Karam also got 26 votes as a reserve member.
The attendees emphasized that the electoral process took place in a professional and transparent atmosphere, reflecting the keenness of journalists to enhance the role of their association, in a way that contributes to defending the rights of workers in the media sector and developing the environment of journalistic work.
The election of the new council comes to continue the association’s march in the service of Bahraini journalists, and adopts initiatives aimed at raising the efficiency of media cadres and keeping pace with the developments witnessed by the journalistic scene regionally and internationally.
