Argentine President Javier Mili announced the launch of a new one million dollars initiative to strengthen diplomatic relations between Israel and a number of Latin American countries, at a time when Israel faces sharp international criticism for its military operations in Gaza.

Funding from the Genesis Award

The initiative, known as the “Isaac Agreements”, was funded by the value of the Guinness Award known as “Jewish Nobel”, which Millie obtained two months ago in Jerusalem, and will focus in its first stage on strengthening ties between Israel, Uruguay, Panama and Costa Rica, according to the Guinnessis Foundation’s announcement on Tuesday.

Argentine position is different

Under the leadership of Miley, Argentina is already enjoying strong relations with Israel, in a position different from most of the Latin American countries, where Bolivia and Colombia have cut diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv, while other countries called for their ambassadors to protest against the war in Gaza.

Inspired by “Abraham Agreements”

The name of the initiative bears a reference to the “Abraham Agreements”. According to the initiative’s organizers, “America’s friends of Isaac agreements”, are scheduled to be expanded in 2026 to include Brazil, Colombia, Chile and perhaps Salvador.

Fixed support for Israel

On June 12, Millie received the Genesis Prize in appreciation of his firm support for Israel, at a time when the latter faced increasing isolation against the backdrop of its land and air attack on Gaza in response to the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Milli is one of the most prominent supporters of the right -wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu among world leaders.

Increased interest in Judaism

Although Miley was born and raised a Catholic, he showed increasing interest in Judaism, and even declared his intention to convert, reflecting the depth of his commitment to supporting Israel at the political and personal levels.
