Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski urged his American counterpart Donald Trump to persuade Russia to end the war, during the summit that brings him with Putin in Alaska.
“It is time to end the war. Russia should take the necessary steps. We rely on America.”
The Ukrainian president explained that “the Alaska summit opens the way towards a fair peace and to a triple discussion between Kiev, Washington and Moscow.”
He also considered that “Russia sacrifices its forces to achieve gains before the Alaska summit.”
He announced the transmission of reinforcements to stop the Russian progress in eastern Ukraine, as Russian forces made rapid progress towards the town of Dobubilia, which is a mining center.
“Today I made a decision to send more reinforcements to this region and others in the Donetsk area,” Zellinski added.
He continued: “The Russian army continues to incur significant losses in its attempts to ensure a better political situation for the Russian leadership at the Alaska meeting.”
