Classical Economic Report: Retirement loans 4 % to 12.6 billion dinars … 47.7 % of them “personal”

The semester economic report of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first quarter of 2025 showed an annual growth in the loans submitted by the retail banks by 4%, to reach about 12.6 billion dinars, where personal loans constituted the largest share of the total loans by 47.7%, recording a growth of 3.1%to 6.0 billion dinars, compared to 5.8 billion dinars in the same period in 2024. As for loans. Introduction to the business sector, 43% of the total loans constituted a growth of 2.6% on an annual basis, to reach 5.4 billion dinars, compared to 5.3 billion dinars in the corresponding period of 2024.

With regard to the loans provided to the government sector, it witnessed a remarkable growth of 16.0%, to reach about 1.2 billion dinars in the first quarter of the year 2025, compared to 1.0 billion dinars in the same period of the previous year. The total value of non -bank deposits came to Bahraini dinars and foreign currencies during the first quarter of the year 2025 by 3.5% on an annual basis, to reach about 20.9 billion dinars. Local deposits constituted 75.6% of the total of these deposits, as their value in Bahraini dinars and foreign currencies amounted to about 15.8 billion dinars. Local deposits included both the private sector deposits, which amounted to 14.3 billion dinars, registered 2.8% on an annual basis, and the government sector deposits, which amounted to 1.5 billion dinars, achieved annual growth by 29.7%.

As for foreign deposits, which constitute about 24.4% of total deposits from non -banks in Bahraini dinars and foreign currencies, they recorded a slight decrease of 1.0% on an annual basis to reach about 5.1 billion dinars during the first quarter of 2025.

As for bonds and sukuk, the Central Bank of Bahrain issued 22 issues of sukuk and bonds during the first quarter of the year 2025, with a total value of approximately 1.51 billion dinars.

Between these publications, government development bonds No. 38 were the highest valuable, as they were issued at a value of 200 million dinars. As for the highest interest rate, it was 5.72% for Treasury permissions No. 2050, with a period of 91 days.

With regard to the subscription rate during the first quarter of 2025, the leasing instrument No. 234 recorded the highest rate of 563%.
