Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qaliubiya, held a meeting today to review the final clauses to hold partnership with one of the international companies specializing in waste recycling and energy production, in preparation for converting the old Abu Zaabal mold in Al -Khanka to the Electricity Production Center from garbage.
Details of the meeting
The deputy governor, Dr. Iman Rayan, Dr. Yasser Abdullah, head of the waste agency, Dr. Secretary General, Advisor to the Minister of Environment, Governor’s assistant, representative of the Ministry of Local Development, and representatives of the company, were attended by the meeting. The project aims to address thousands of tons of waste daily, produce clean energy, create job opportunities for youth, and improve the civilizational appearance of cities.
The governor stressed that the project represents a top priority within the comprehensive development plan, and is in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision in benefiting from the waste as a “wasting treasure” and converting it to an economic value.
