Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians abroad, received a phone call from the democratic Senator “Chris Van Holin”, a member of the Foreign Relations and Approvals Committees of the US Senate, in the context of continuous communication and coordination with the leaders and members of the US Congress.
The communication dealt with ways to enhance strategic relations between Egypt and the United States, and to build on the fruitful bilateral cooperation in various fields, in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples and contributes to the consolidation of security and stability in the region.
Minister Abdel -Ati emphasized the main pillar of security and stability in the Middle East and Africa.
Developments of the situation in the Gaza Strip
The communication also dealt with developments in the Gaza Strip, where Minister Abdel -Ati reiterated the need to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement, stressing the importance of injecting the blood of the Palestinian people and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to the sector in light of its catastrophic conditions as a result of Israeli policies systematic to starve, and the need to accelerate dealing with this urgent humanitarian crisis, and the practice of weakness on the Israeli government to allow enforcement Safe and sustainable for humanitarian aid, and open all crossings that link Israel.
The Foreign Minister also stressed the necessity of offering a political horizon to achieve a fair and sustainable settlement of the Palestinian issue, and to restore the Palestinian people for their legitimate rights, foremost of which is their right to self -determination and establish an independent state on the lines of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also expressed Egypt’s aspiration to continue the close work with the American administration to lay the foundations of a fair and comprehensive peace in the Middle East in order to achieve the interests of all the peoples of the region.
For his part, Senator “Chris Van Holin” appreciated Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting regional stability, and its relentless efforts to the ceasefire in Gaza and alleviate the human suffering from the Palestinian people, stressing his keenness to intensify coordination and consultation with the Egyptian side.
