The General Secretariat of the Gulf Football Association decided to postpone the start of the Gulf Champions League for the new season 2025/2026, in which Al Ain Al -Emirati and a number of prominent clubs participate, to be held on September 30 instead of the previous date scheduled for the 16th of the same month.

The reason for postponing the tournament

The Gulf Football Federation statement clarified that the decision came in response to the sponsoring company’s request, with the aim of completing the technical and organizational preparations, and ensuring a start that is worthy of the championship status, in a manner that ensures the presentation of an exceptional version that enjoys wide mass follow -up.

Results of the championship draw

The championship draw, held last Monday, resulted in the division of clubs into two balanced groups; The first group includes Al Ain Al -Emirati, Zakho Al -Iraqi, Sitra Al -Bahraini, and Kuwaiti Qadisiyah. While the second group came with the presence of the Qatari Rayyan, the Saudi youth, the Omani Renaissance, and the Yemeni Hadramout solidarity.

How many clubs share in the new version?

The Arab Gulf Football Cup federation approved the participation of 8 clubs in this version, amid expectations of strong competition between the qualified teams, in light of the big names that represent the Gulf states, Iraq and Yemen.
