Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, was keen on congratulating the Egyptian basketball team on the occasion of his victory over Mali, in the opening of the Afopasket Championship, which is currently held in Angola, which will end on August 24.
The Minister of Sports made a phone call to the national team’s mission currently in Angola, and congratulated them on the victory over Mali.
The Minister of Sports, Amr Moselhi, President of the Egyptian Basketball Federation, and Tariq Al -Saeed, the deputy of the federation and the head of the mission in Angola, were also assured of the latest preparations of the national team for the resurrected matches.
The minister praised the high spirit of the players during their confrontation with Mali, stressing his confidence in their ability to provide more during the upcoming matches.
The national team beat Mali 74-59, in a match during which the Pharaohs sons gave a great offer, to win the first two points in the group stage.
The national team is in the fourth group of the Afopasket Championship, along with Mali, Senegal and Uganda.
Egypt is scheduled to play its second match in the group stage against Senegal, in the confrontation scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday.
The leaders of each group qualify directly to the quarter -finals, while the runner -up and the third place will play the round of 16.

The mission is headed by Tariq Al -Saeed, Vice President of the Egyptian Basketball Federation, while the technical staff consists of Mohamed Al -Kurdani as a technical director, Mohamed Salim, coach Rami Junaidi, Ahmed Al -Jarhi coach, Sameh Salah, Administrative Director, Islam Juma, a doctor, Abdel Rahman Al -Jallad, a performance analyst, Mohamed Gamal, the coach of the loads, Ali Musa, hospital, Mr. Ali, the media coordinator of the Egyptian teams.
