Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, concluded his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss ways to enhance cooperation mechanisms between the two countries in the fields of tourism and antiquities, with several media meetings with a number of representatives of the Bosnian media, including the Hayat TV channel and the KLIX agency.
During these meetings, the Minister expressed his optimism about the fruitful talks with the Bosnian side to enhance joint cooperation relations in various fields, especially tourism and monuments in a way that serves the interests of the two countries.
The Minister also reviewed the features of the ministry’s strategy that comes under the slogan “Egypt … an unparalleled diversity” and focuses on highlighting Egypt as a first tourist destination in the world thanks to the diversity of its products and tourism patterns that are unparalleled in the world, including beach, cultural, rural, spiritual, Nile and others.

He pointed out that Egypt was able to achieve a record in the number of tourists coming to it from the various tourist markets during the year 2024 despite the geopolitical events taking place in the region, which confirms the security and safety that Egypt enjoys and reflects the increasing confidence of the global markets in the Egyptian tourist destination.
He also talked about the efforts made by the Egyptian state to attract tourism investments, especially in the hotel field to increase the absorptive capacity in hotel facilities in the Egyptian destination to suit the increase in tourism numbers, in addition to the Ministry’s efforts to achieve sustainability and convert the tourism sector into a friendly sector of the environment, pointing out that more than 41% of the hotel facilities and more than 30% of diving centers in Egypt apply requirements Green practices.
He noted the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum on the first of next November.
During these meetings, the minister stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of tourism at the level of the governmental and private sectors, pointing to the keenness of the two countries to increase the tourism promotion of Egypt in Bosnia and the introduction of the Bosnian tourist to the diversity of tourism ingredients that Egypt enjoys.
The Minister concluded these meetings by inviting the Bosnian tourist to visit Egypt and enjoy the diversity of tourism products and patterns.
