“Semester Economic”: Establishing projects with $ 61 million within “Gulf Development”

The separate economic report of the Kingdom of Bahrain confirmed that the major development projects funded by the Gulf Development Program have achieved remarkable growth during the first quarter of the year 2025, by awarding projects worth $ 61 million.

The separation report published on the website of the Ministry of Finance and National Economy indicated that the total value of projects that were established about 6.4 billion US dollars, which represents an increase of 3.7% on an annual basis.

The report showed the award of contracts for a number of projects during the first quarter of the year 2025, such as the Salman Residential City project, the long -term care center project in Muharraq and the Al -Shamil Center project in Alia.

In terms of foreign direct investment, the statistics showed the increase in the value of investments in the Kingdom during the first quarter of the year 2025 by 3.5% on an annual basis, according to the results of foreign investment survey, which is implemented by the Information and Electronic Government Authority in cooperation with the Central Bank of Bahrain.

The balance of foreign direct investments amounted to 17.1 billion Bahraini dinars compared to what it was during the first quarter of the year 2024, which amounted to 16.5 billion Bahraini dinars.

Financial investment and insurance activities in the lead came to its contribution to about 64.2% of the total value of investments, and its balance reached about 11.0 billion Bahraini dinars during the first quarter of the year 2025, registering a growth of 4.7%, on an annual basis.

The manufacturing industry activities ranked second in terms of a contribution of about 13.4% of the total value of foreign investments, as the investment balance for the sector reached 2.3 billion Bahraini dinars, recording an increase on an annual basis by 1.3%, while the balance of professional, scientific and technical activities decreased by 0.9% to reach about 0.9 billion Bahraini dinars.

Kuwait topped the list of invested countries, whose direct investment balance in Bahrain reached 6 billion Bahraini dinars, with a contribution rate of 35%, followed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to reach approximately 3.7 billion Bahraini dinars with a share of 22.1% of the total value of foreign direct investment balance. The United Arab Emirates ranked third with direct investments equal to 1.7 billion Bahraini dinars, with a contribution rate of 9.8%.
