The security services in Luxor Governorate opened an urgent investigation into an official communication submitted by Mayor Mohamed Mahmoud Yassin, one of the candidates in the return round of the Senate, by being subjected to an attempt to intimidate during his walk on the highway heading to the city of Esna.

The candidate confirmed in a post on his official Facebook page, that he was subjected to an attempt to intimidate – as he put it – while passing through the Al -Abeer road near the village of Al -Dabaya, where he was surprised by two cars, one of which was Hyundai Black and the other Mitsubishi silver, trying to intercept and restrict him during his walk until the village of Al -Rizaqat.
He added that the incident was documented directly on social media from inside one of the two cars, and it included explicit threat phrases, among them: the process must succeed .. and Al -Hodeidah and ready to beat.
After the accident, Mayor Yassin released an official report at the Armant Police Station, in which he explained the full details of the incident, accompanied by visual clips. He also called for a speedy security move to reveal the identity and accountability of the perpetrators, especially with the approaching return of the run -off.
For its part, sources confirmed that the communication is under examination and investigation by the competent authorities, and that information is being collected and the content of the videos circulating to reach the perpetrators of the incident, and ensuring the progress of the electoral process safely and transparently.
