The President of the UAE and the Russian President are discussing in Moscow ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the sisterly United Arab Emirates, discussed with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, various aspects of the strategic partnership between the two countries and the capabilities of developing it at all levels in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

The UAE News Agency (WAM) reported that this came during the session of the talks held by the owner of the President of the United Arab Emirates and His Excellency President Vladimir Putin today in the Kremlin as part of his official visit to the Russian Federation.

The agency added that the President of the United Arab Emirates and the Russian President reviewed during the session the paths of the development of Emirati -Russian cooperation, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, space, energy and other aspects that serve the priorities of development in the two countries based on their keenness to continue to enhance their strategic partnership in various fields.

The President of the United Arab Emirates said that the Emirati -Russian relations are based on firm foundations of mutual trust and respect and are based on an ancient legacy of constructive cooperation and joint action that extends to more than five decades, stressing the UAE’s keenness to build effective development partnerships with various countries of the world and enhance international cooperation in dealing with common global challenges and achieving sustainable development and prosperity for all peoples of the world.

The President of the United Arab Emirates and the Russian President exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues in common concern, and in this context the UAE’s steadfast approach to working to consolidate the reasons for peace and stability in the world besides advancing peaceful solutions and initiatives for various conflicts and conflicts at the regional and global levels.

The two sides touched on the importance of the Arab -Russian summit that will be held next October and which was called by President Vladimir Putin in strengthening Russia’s relations with the Arab world.

The Russian President reviewed the developments of the situation in the Middle East region, stressing the need to intensify work in order to find a clear horizon for a fair and comprehensive peace that is based on a “two -state solution” and guarantees stability and security for all.

The President of the United Arab Emirates had arrived in the Kremlin earlier, where he was received by His Excellency the Russian President.

On the sidelines of the visit, the two countries also signed the “Services and Investment Trade Convention”.

The agreement was signed by the UAE, His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al -Zyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, and on the Russian side, His Excellency Maxim Reichnikov, Minister of Economic Development.

The “Services and Investment Trade Convention” between the UAE and Russia is a complementary step for the economic partnership agreement signed between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union – which includes in its membership among Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in addition to Russia; While providing a special bilateral framework for cooperation with Russia, it focuses on services and investment, including the fields of financial technology, health care, transportation, logistical services, professional services, and others.

His Excellency Suhail bin Muhammad Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and His Excellency Andre Nikitin, the Russian Minister of Transport, signed a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in the field of land transport between the two sides.

The President of the United Arab Emirates left Moscow at the end of the official visit to Russia.
