The director of the Syrian Investment Authority, Talal Al -Hilali, announced 12 projects worth 14 billion dollars, stressing that it will constitute a qualitative shift in infrastructure and economic life.
Al -Hilali added in his speech during the launch of the activities of signing investment understanding notes, today, Wednesday, at the People’s Palace, that these projects are not just real estate or infrastructure investments, but rather are engines to generate job opportunities, and bridges of confidence between Syria and global investors.
He also explained that the most prominent projects are Damascus International Airport with an investment of $ 4 billion, the Damascus metro with an investment value of $ 2 billion, and a vital project for infrastructure and urban movement.
He also pointed out that these projects also include the Damascus towers with an investment value of $ 2 billion, the Brameka towers by investing 500 million dollars, and the Brameka Mall by investing $ 60 million.
Talal Al -Hilali stressed that today’s meeting is not just an official occasion, but rather a clear and frank declaration that Syria is open to investment, and it is determined to build a prosperous future, and is ready to work alongside the reliable partners to write a new chapter of rise and construction, according to the Syrian News Agency “SANA”.
He said: “Today we open the door towards a future of cooperation, based on the basis of law and transparency, and is based on the will of the Syrians and their unimaginable determination.”
It is noteworthy that the ceremony of signing the memoranda of understanding for a number of investment projects to be implemented in Syria was launched today, in the presence of President Ahmed Al -Shara, and with the participation of the American Special Envoy to Syria, Thomas Barak, in the ceremony for the People’s Palace in the capital, Damascus.
These ceremonies came against the background of the Syrian -Saudi Investment Forum, in the presence of a wide official, which included government officials and representatives of the participating companies and investment bodies.
