On Wednesday, the star of our first national football team, Mahdi Humaidan, arrived in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in preparation for joining the ranks of Al-Zawra Club, with whom he will have a new professional experience during the new football season 2025-2026, in one of the most prominent stations in his football career, and he was received at the airport of Baghdad, his colleague, the Iraqi player Dergham Ismail.
This step comes after an agreement between Al -Zawra Club and the Bahraini Khalidiya Club, to which the player belongs, as the deal was made with the loan system, amid aspirations that Humaidan will provide the desired technical addition to one of the oldest Iraqi clubs.
Al -Zawra Club announced a few days ago its contract with Humaidan, before the player completed his transfer procedures and arrives in Baghdad to join the team’s training that started under the leadership of the Iraqi coach Abdul Ghani Shahd, in preparation for the new season.
Al -Zawra Club is expected to hold an official presentation on Friday, during which he will reveal all his new contracts for the season, which included several prominent names, including Mahdi Humaidan, who is the third player coming from Al -Khalidiya Club to Al -Zawra this summer, after the Iraqi defender Dergham Ismail, and the Jordanian Nizar Al -Rashdan, after the end of their contract with Al -Khalidiya. Humaidan’s move to the Iraqi league represents a remarkable step in his career, especially in light of his high technical capabilities and extensive international experience, which made him one of the most prominent players of our team in recent years.
