Astronomical researcher Muhammad Reda Al Asfour stated that the fans of astronomical phenomena are on a date with the overall eclipse of the moon, which will happen, God willing, on Sunday evening, September 7, in conjunction with the completion of Badr Al -Awwal in the year 1447 AH.
Al -Asfour explained that this phenomenon is one of the most prominent astronomical phenomena in the year 2025, and it will be clearly seen in the sky of the Kingdom of Bahrain and all the Arab Gulf states, as it passes through several stages that take about 5 hours and 27 minutes, starting from a semi -shadow eclipse, through partial eclipse, then the total, and ending with the exit of the moon from the shadow and semi -shadow of the earth.
Al -Asfour indicated that the total peak of the eclipse will be at the entire moon entering its tablet in the shadow of the earth, for an hour and 22 minutes, where its color turns into dark red, which is known as the “bloody moon”, noting that the period of eclipse prayer in the Kingdom of Bahrain will be between 7:27 pm until 10:56 pm local time, which is the period that coincides with the partial and total eclipse.
Al Asfour added that this astronomical event is the first of its kind that is monitored in the sky of the Kingdom of Bahrain since July 2018, and it will not be monitored in the Kingdom until December 31 of 2028, which makes it a rare occasion that deserves to be followed and documented by those interested in astronomical phenomena, and can be seen with the naked eye without the need for protective glasses or specialized monitoring devices, which makes it an opportunity for astronomical enthusiasts and lovers To document this unique heavenly scene.
