“PNAS” magazine published the results of a recent study, during which scientists were able to discover a boat that helps eliminate drug -resistant viruses that cause bird flu and swine flu.
The magazine pointed out that the study conducted by a team from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem led by Professor Shay Arkin, showed that a compound combines theoprumine (located in chocolate) and anarenosin that has an unprecedented effectiveness in inhibiting bird flu and pigs resistant.
The magazine explained that the scientists, instead of attacking the viral proteins that are quick to mutating viral proteins, proposed a new approach to bridge the ionic channel of the virus (M2) using the new compound, which was not possible with traditional medicines.
Tests and experiments on laboratory animals have shown that the new compound has a stronger and longer effect than Oseltamifer (Tamiflu), especially against treatment -resistant viral breeds. The boat may also be useful in combating other viruses, such as Corona viruses.
The development of this compound has been transferred to an emerging company called Viroblock to conduct clinical trials on it, and scientists believe that this innovation may cause a qualitative shift in the treatment of viral diseases by developing a new drug category, more effective and capable of resisting virus infections.
