In conjunction with the celebration of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the International Day to Combat Trafficking in Persons and to enhance the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in combating that crime, the General Administration of Investigations and Forensic Evidence has established an office that follows the Department of Combating Trafficking in Persons and Protection of Public Literature dedicated and equipped according to international standards to receive the victims in a safe and appropriate environment, with allocating a special space for children in the event that the victim was with one of its children, in order to ensure their comfort Providing psychological protection and support for them and helping them overcome the difficulties that occurred to them as a result of that crime.
The establishment of the office comes in response to the requirements of the law and in line with international principles and standards regarding observance of guarantees and the protection of human rights in order to provide safe conditions for testifying and collecting information related to the lawsuit, ensuring the cooperation of potential victims and witnesses with the justice agencies and encouraging them to cooperate with the authorities starting with the stage of reasoning until the case is referred to the authorities, by making their testimonies and revealing the perpetrators and controlling them.
The office also represents an important step in strengthening the anti -trafficking system, based on its security and moral commitment to protecting human rights and ensuring justice for all, as it comes compatible with Law No. 1 of 2008 regarding the fight against trafficking in persons, and the Palermo Agreement that the Kingdom of Bahrain joined under Law No. 4 of 2004.
The Criminal Information Division of the General Administration of Investigations and Criminal Evidence affirmed the continued activation of the community partnership with all institutions and groups in the field of providing lectures, and holding exhibitions to raise awareness and education in the field of combating human trafficking, noting the necessity of communication and cooperation with the security and specialized authorities through reporting any information related to activities related to human trafficking via the hotline (555), or the main operations room (999),, Or via email: (Email Protected) around the clock, while ensuring complete confidentiality of information.
