The local markets in Bahrain are witnessing remarkable stability in the prices of shrimp with a slight price disparity according to size and origin, according to what a number of sellers and specialists in the fish market reported.

In a special statement to “Al -Watan”, the seller, Habib Al -Jamri, who is one of the well -known sellers in the local market, explained that the prices of Bahraini shrimp currently range between 3 dinars and 3.5 dinars per kilogram, according to its size.

Al -Jamri pointed out that the market is currently witnessing a good demand for the local shrimp, due to its quality, but the prices are not expected to decrease in the near future due to its scarcity in the market, adding: “We do not see signs of the decline in prices now, due to the stability of the quantities offered, due to the market shouting.”

As for the imported (external) shrimp, Al -Jamri stated that its prices vary as well, according to the size, as the price ranges between 3 dinars, and reaches 4.5 dinars per kilogram if it is a large “jumbo” type.

It is noteworthy that the ban on shrimp hunting was lifted on August 1, 2025, after a six -month ban.

Some external shrimp customers are preferred to stabilize its size and ease of dealing with it in restaurants and large occasions, but the Bahraini shrimp remains the first option for the Bahraini consumer thanks to its distinctive flavor and his partner.
