A team from the Administrative Prosecution inspected the site of the incident of a gas cylinder explosion in a restaurant in a second department department SohagWhich led to the injury of a number of citizens, accompanied by specialists in the local unit of the East Sohag neighborhood, and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health in the Directorate of Manpower in Sohag.

It is worth noting that the inspection showed that the accident occurred on Friday evening, August 1, 2025, at 10:25 pm, in a restaurant prepared for food preparation, inside a narrow corridor that does not have the necessary requirements for licensing this type of activities.
It also turned out that the corridor includes many unlicensed shops, and the fire broke out in the restaurant as a result of the explosion of a gas cylinder, which led to the spread of the fire to the facades of the neighboring shops, and resulted in the injury of a number of citizens and great material losses, and the administrative authority issued administrative closure decisions for a number of stores in the corridor immediately after the accident.
After emptying the surveillance cameras in the vicinity of the incident and listening to the testimonies of eyewitnesses, the prosecution decided to summon the specialists from the governorate’s general office, the local unit, the workforce, and the civil protection to hear their statements about the licenses of the shops and the availability of safety and security requirements, in addition to following up the case of the injured to study the possibility of hearing their certificates about the accident.
The investigation team also moved to a quarrel site that broke out between a number of workers in two food and beverage shops, due to a dispute over the priority of placing tables in the area common to the two shops.
The accident resulted in the injury of a number of citizens who were present at the site of the fight, as it was found from the inspection that there were unlicensed occupations in the road and the locations adjacent to the site, which affected traffic and led to its disruption, as it was noticed that the requirements of civil protection, health and occupational safety in some stores were observed.
The prosecution decided to summon specialists in the local units of the East Sohag neighborhood, the center and city of Sohag, the General Court of Sohag Governorate, the Directorate of Manpower in Sohag, and the Civil Protection Department in Sohag, to determine the violations and those responsible for them.
